Privacy Policy

Clipdio turns screen recordings into narrated videos. This policy explains what stays on your computer and what is sent online when you use an account, credits or an AI provider.

What stays on your computer

The desktop app stores your projects, recordings, exports, settings and any API keys you add in its local data folder. You can remove local projects and keys from the app or by deleting its local data. Your own API keys are used by the local app to call the provider you chose. They are not sent to Clipdio's credit service.

What we receive

If you sign in, we receive your email address to send a one time code. We store your account, credit balance and credit activity. We store a hash of your session token, not the token itself. If you buy credits, we receive the order and payment status needed to add credits and handle refunds. Dodo Payments handles checkout and payment details.

When you use Clipdio credits, your request passes through our service to OpenRouter or ElevenLabs. That request can include prompts, parts of a recording, text for speech or voice samples, depending on the feature you use. The provider processes the request and sends the result back through our service. If you use your own key, the local app sends the request directly to that provider.

Who else handles data

Resend delivers sign in emails. Dodo Payments handles credit purchases. OpenRouter and ElevenLabs process requests paid with Clipdio credits. If you use your own provider key, that provider handles the content you send to it under its own terms and privacy policy.

How long data stays

Local files remain on your computer until you remove them. Sign in codes work for 10 minutes. Sessions can last up to one year and renew while you keep using Clipdio. We keep account, credit and purchase records while your account is in use and for any legal or accounting period that applies. You can ask us about the data tied to your account or request its deletion, subject to records we must keep by law.

Your choices

You can use your own provider key instead of Clipdio credits for supported providers. You can replace or remove a saved key in Settings and sign out at any time. To ask about your account data, access or deletion, contact us at privacy@clipdio.app.

We may update this policy when Clipdio changes. The date at the top shows when this page was last updated.
